Core concepts
Before diving into the app, here are the foundational ideas that shape how the platform works. These terms are used consistently throughout the system and this documentation.
Terminology
Host
Front desk staff operating the tablet app. The primary user of the system.
Member
Any person who enters the club. Everyone must be a member — even first-time walk-ins get an account.
Visit
The active record from check-in to checkout. Tracks time, charges, rental, and feedback.
Rental
A room, locker, or configurable space that can be assigned during a visit.
Tier
Membership level — Default, Gold, VIP, etc. Controls pricing discounts and waitlist priority.
Add-On
Items purchasable during a visit: guest passes, premium amenities, time extensions.
Product
A purchasable item: consumables (towels, drinks) or loanable items (robes).
Club
Your business. The customer using the platform.
Four staff roles
Host
Check-in/checkout, rental assignment, visits, purchases, waitlist
Cleaner
Cleaning task queue, timed sessions, flagging maintenance issues
Maintenance
Maintenance task queue, multi-session work, photos and notes
Manager
All views + financials, configuration, staff management, report cards
White-label philosophy
Members see your club's brand everywhere — never the platform. Your name, your colors, your logo. "Powered by Clerb" in the footer is the only attribution. This is a core design principle, not a feature toggle.
Every notification, display screen, and member-facing element uses your club's brand identity. The platform is invisible when it's working correctly.
