How pricing works

Your pricing engine is layered and sequential. Five layers stack on top of each other, each compounding on the result of the one before it — not the original base price. This naturally protects your margins because stacked discounts have diminishing absolute impact.

The calculation flow
Default rate
Calendar rules
Bulk discount
Tier discount
Member adj.
Each layer takes the output of the previous layer as its input. A member with multiple discounts still pays a reasonable amount — three 40% discounts don't result in free access.

Why it works this way

The calendar sets what a rental is worth at that moment. Peak Saturday night? That's the real price. Discounts are then concessions the club makes to reward loyalty and longer stays.

A walk-in member with no membership sees the effective base price (default rate + calendar rules). Everything after that is a reward for being a better customer.

Every calculation is fully traceable. Managers can see exactly why a member was charged a specific amount — which layers applied, in what order, and what each one did to the price.
