Membership lifecycle
Every membership moves through a set of statuses that control whether a member can check in. The system enforces these automatically at the front desk.

Renewal flow
When a membership expires, the member can't check in — but they're not lost. The system prompts renewal at the front desk. If a grace period is configured, they can still check in during that window while being reminded to renew.
This gives clubs flexibility: strict clubs set a zero-day grace period (expired = blocked immediately). Member-friendly clubs might set 7 or 14 days so regulars aren't turned away over a missed renewal date.
Anonymous membership
Some tiers can support anonymous mode. After a configurable period, all PII is purged — name, date of birth, everything. An irreversible ID hash is retained so bans and suspensions still work, but the person behind the hash can never be identified.
